India Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program (SCCP)
Preceding the U.S.-India SCCP ll and starting in 2009, ANSI carried out a multi-faceted Standards and Conformance Cooperation Program (SCCP) Phase l in India in cooperation with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), with sponsorship from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency to improve access for U.S. companies to the Indian market by boosting cooperation on standards and conformance issues.
Separate from the U.S.-India SCCP l & ll, ANSI, CII, and BIS organized a workshop on leveraging the WTO TBT agreement:

On September 11, 2008 the American National Standards Institute, in coordination with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), organized a workshop co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of Commerce,
International Trade Administration and the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The workshop was held at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi, India and was entitled "Leveraging the WTO/TBT Agreement".

U.S.-India Commercial Dialogue
The U.S.-India Commercial Dialogue is part of the broader Economic Dialogue between the two countries, and was originally initiated in 2000 by President Clinton and Prime Minister Vajpayee. Under the Commercial Dialogue, public and private sector representatives share basic information that affects trade and companies’ capability to conduct business in each market.
In recent years, the Commercial Dialogue has facilitated a number of sessions on standards-related issues, including basic information on the standards systems in the U.S. and India, and more recently, sector-specific discussions. These sessions are carried out regularly via digital videoconference (DVC), and the topics are decided on an as-needed basis.
